Another year was passed. In this year i've made two important changes in my life. I've quit from my part-time employed works and i'm married with Francesca.
Works
About my works, since 2014 i've worked as a freelance part time and in the latest 2 years i've lost a lot of my personal time because i'm not able to say "no" about freelance works. For my latest company i've followed a big works that was during almost 2 years and in May '24 it's arrived an a milestone. So, after an incredibile time of thinking, in that moments i've decided to quit. So, this year for me is a year when i'm pass to work the 50% of my time as freelancer to the 75%.
My income is increased over 40% than last year and i'm really happy about that. Moreover about, in this year i've a lot of work as "pro bono" causes and i've built two tools that will be changing my works as smarter.
The first is a tool that using SerpAPI and monthly track my websites on SERP. It's important from my income because i've faster when i'm track changes on Serp for my "designated keywords". Around 25% of my works start from a "Google Search" so that's really important for me.
The second tool is a small CRM that's completely created for mine requirements. Is it composed with modules that can manage customers, services or products, quotes, and forecasts. Every this procedures in the past was managed by Notion and after by Coda but i need to have a more malleable tools that allow me more. That has a Form Builder that save potential customer his module, it has a more customizable Quotate Tools and allow me to tranform a potential customer in a customer directly on my invoices platform. Moreover it has a dashboard that clarify my situation about works and incomes.
Family & Friends
About the argument "Family" after 9 years i've finally marry Francesca and i'm really happy about that. The only thing that i'd like to change is the weather! We have decide to marry on the beach but the fate is not by our side in that day!
Friends are always difficult to "catches" but i'm working on it and there will be better. Moreover i'm really happy to re-discover a friends that join me as works in this year. Collaboration can grow up me and my works and sitting near a ex-collaborator that was sitted near by me 10 year ago it's fantastic.
Money
Some sad news 😂
Jokes a part, there was a marriage this year, so we spended 10k only in that! And in this year our dogs, Mocha and Cri had to be surgery for two operations that cost me around 2.5k. Fortunately both is it's good now!.
After that i'm conforted because the ratio from income and outcome is nearly equal. So, in the next year i'm can put aside some savings!
About money, i've started to track all my income and expenses, adding the changes on from finactiary markets. I'm tracking everything with a Google Sheet but in the next year i'd like to create a more manageable system, perhaps using a backbone of CRM.
About me
It's a year of changes and in this year i've some revelations. I'm thinking a lot about my life and i'm be able to recognize some behaviors that recursively appears.
I think i can recognize when i'm nearly to bournout. And it's positive. Simply i've have to do a break.
I think i can recognize when i'm sad. And it's positive because i can do a lot about: i can write in this blog (learning to write in english 🤣), i can drawing and print in 3D (yes, i've bought a BambuuLab 🤣), i can go out and do sports or walking with dogs.
Generally, i've learned that i've to give me time. Every side projects can wait, a lot of projects is not urgent. Organize better my week can allow me to stay calm (and i can write a posts about how i organize as a freelancer).
Targets for the next year
- Improve from 15% to 25% my income as a freelance and track better my net worth 💸
- Do a more sports or movements and lost 5 kg (in this year i failed)
- Porting for CamisetaDigital and FantaStats from JS to PHP (I'll write a post about that)
